The origins of the word curry are widely considered to have come from the British colonial times and was probably adapted from the Hindi word "karahi" or "Karia" which refers to the wok like pan that is used to mix and blend the wide range of herbs and spices. Typical curry spices range from turmeric, to coriander to garlic with varying degrees of spices added. The Thai’s are also been responsible for many of the curry influences that can now be found in the UK.
